Although (July) 1935 marks the year the first official broadcasting company in Singapore – the British Malaya Broadcasting Corporation (BMBC) – was granted a monopoly licence. Later it was renamed into „British Far Eastern Broadcasting Service“. The ID on shortwave was: „This is the Far Eastern Service of South East Asia Command, calling in the 31, 41 and 25 meter bands“. The most reported Frequency was 11735 khz, and the station was run by the British Foreign Office. — As from June 1946, BFEBS announced as „Voice of Britain“. Later the station become the ‚BBC Far Eastern Relay Singapore‘ (1th July 1956).
