Somali Broadcasting Service, Mogadiscio, 7420 khz

The first radio station in British-Somaliland to broadcast popular Somali music was 1942 Radio Kudu, based in Hargeisa; it was later renamed into „Radio Somali (SBS)“ –transmitting on 7126 khz– and then to „Radio Hargeisa“, and does exist until today – QSL see below. In addition „Radio Mogadiscio“ broadcasted later on 7198 khz — both inside the 40/41-meter-band. Radio Mogadiscio was established 1943 under british administration and broadcasted under different governments till 1991. Ten years later started another station (with same name) on 6700 khz, which had nothing to do with the origin. — Radio Hargeisa is now since May 1991 part of the new „Republic of Somaliland“ and does broadcast on 6860 khz & 7122 (+-) khz with 1 kW Power.
